Beach Towels or Bath Towels? Which Do You Bring to the Beach?

If you've ever planned a trip to the beach, you always make sure to pack your essentials: sunscreen, sunglasses, a couple of cold drinks, and of course your towel. The Beach Towel is the only line of defense that separates the scorching hot sand from your behind. But between you and me, most patrons that go to the beach don't know the difference when it comes to beach towels and bath towels. Just take a quick look into your bathroom or linen closet and really observe your towels. Now this is where most folks make the mistake: they're getting ready for the beach and the only towels that they see laying around come from the bathroom, and they're like "Oh well, it's just a towel..." But heed this caution, fellow beach goer: it is NEVER "Just a Towel". If you've reached for the three-piece, beige towel set with grandma's embroidery on it, chances are it will not fare well at the beach.

Here a are few helpful comparisons between the Beach Towel vs. Bath Towel debate:

1) Loops or No Loops?

If you went for the closest bath towel you've got, you'll notice that there are some pretty visible loops sticking up on the top and backside of the towel. These loops help with water absorption and are perfect for drying off when you hop out of the shower...when you're at home.

If you dry off with these kinds of towels at the beach, you'll be left with a heavy, wet towel for the remainder of the day. Terry Velour and Subli-Plush Beach Towels have a sheared top side, making the towels a little bit thinner. This allows for them to dry off quicker under the hot sun, staying lightweight the throughout entire day. 2) Size

Beaches are the perfect places to relax, unwind, and forget about our responsibilities. Since you'll be doing your lounging on the sand, you're going to want to make sure your towel is long enough for your stretched out legs. Bath towels are usually shorter in length and don't provide the premium coverage that standard beach towels do. Make sure the Beach Towel length is at or exceeds 60"

3) Decoration

If you've opted to take the bath towel you saw before leaving your house, it probably has no bright colors and no decorations (unless it's the fancy, monogrammed towel mom always says not to touch). So why turn your beach day into a bland day with boring, neutral colored towels? A towel should reflect the atmosphere that it is being used in. Fun, bright colors not only separate your spread from everyone else, they'll be the spotlight of your social media posts and pin you as the ultimate beach goer.
